Teething Stress
Teething has got to be one of the most stress inducing events in a baby’s life. Not only must the mouth feel like its on fire, but then comes these sharp pokey things that break through the skin without mercy. And it’s not like it happens all at once, as you know if you’ve raised a little being yourself. Cutting teeth takes a long time. From the time your little one is born, the teeth are working their way up to the surface. Some kidlets cut teeth well into their second year, or longer.
Babies don’t really know what’s going on, they just know it hurts! Teething afftects the immune system , making babies more vulnerable to catching colds and wreaks havoc on their appetite. In a nutshell, teething is an exhausting marathon that appears to have no end when you are in the midst of it.
And, just when you think you’ve got a routine down, it changes. Your little one is finally napping fitfully and sleeping through the night and then starts waking up again at odd hours, face flaming red over the affected gum area. Poor little things.
A Remedy Your Baby Will Love
There are many remedies out there, but I prefer to keep it simple. Our little guy doesn’t enjoy the frozen washcloth trick or even teething rings for very long. There is one thing that does work though. And, when he sees it he gets really excited. I think he loves the taste and he knows he’ll feel better quickly. The product I’d like to recommend to you is Bug and Pickle Teething Oil.
Teething Oil
Ingredients:
Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca Oil) ~ Nourishing and healing.
Essential oil of Roman Chamomile(Anthemis Noblis) ~ A natural analgesic or pain reliever that works quickly to take the edge off cutting teeth.
Vitamin E ( Tocopherol) Helps skin heal and repair itself.
Recommended Use
Put a drop on your clean index finger, and rub lightly on the affected gums.
Use as often as needed up to 4 or 5 times a day.
Keep it in the fridge as it feels better on sore gums when it is cooled.
What other remedies have you tried that help with teething?
I hope this finds you and your baby well!
